Bass Buck n Bird Hunter Beginners Guide to Fishing It may seem that catching a fish is a simple thing, simply throw a baited hook in the water and wait. If you have the patience, this can be effective. However, I know of few people that can sit there and watch a bobber all day praying something will bite. And catching a trophy, such as a 12lb bass, often requires quite a bit of hunting, tactics, and skill mixed with a little luck. I also know that it's hard for a person that is just beginning to fish to process all the information that gets thrown at them. Especially when someone is trying to sell them a products like lures, plastic worms, plastic tubes, crank baits, buzz baits, top water plugs, diving plugs, spinner baits, jigs, pig-n-jigs...etc..etc. The list of lures and tackle goes on forever. There are billions of fishing lures, scents and baits out there, and all are guaranteed to catch a lunker bass, a monster smallmouth, or a limit of bream or crappie every time. Even other amateur anglers, or pros for that matter, give info on lures and techniques that work for them. They promise if you try their way, you will catch fish. While well meaning, this information can be misleading. No one fishing lure, retrieve technique, or scent will produce for every angler every time. While any lure and tackle may catch a fish, none can catch fish every time. There are many variables to calculate, water temperature, weather, weather patterns, clarity of the water, type of cover in the water....etc...etc....etc.... And learning how to understand these fishing variables involves simply going fishing and learning while you try to catch fish. "On-the-job-training" you might say. One buzz bait might work in one pond or lake and catch nothing in another. And a crank bait that caught dozens of bass yesterday on a pond or lake, may catch nothing today on that same lake or pond. I've decided to put some information on my website to help beginning anglers get started fishing, and hopefully get them fishing without putting them off of fishing because they expected much more success on their first fishing trip. The info here are things I've learned, and possible solutions to problems I've encountered that might come your way one day. So please take and use the information, and as your fishing experience grows you will add to that which is here with your own experiences. Before fishing, check with your states Fish and Wildlife department for information regarding regulations, licenses, and permits. This will save you from fines, and possible time in jail. There are seasons for certain fish, and some fish that must be released when caught, not to do so is illegal, and game wardens do take these laws seriously. These laws and regulations are different from state to state and more offten than not, from county to county. They are there to protect the natural resources so that fishing can be enjoyed by the future generations of fishermen to come.Click Here for Beginners Guide to Fishing Part I |
